The 3G mobile network is being shut down progressively in Australia
3G is used in some Security alarm panels and GSM/GPRS units for communication and an 3G sim may also have been used in an Permaconn / T4000 / Ness GSM Dialler products.
Most providers are swapping /upgrading units and SIM to a 4G functionality to maintain continuity of service
With Bosch Security Alarms, 3G GSM units were used with:
- Solution 6000 CM744B
- Solution 2000 and 3000 B450-M and B443 3G GSM/GPRS unit
So when does it all close?
- For Solution 6000 4G GSM units were released.
These are CM748B or CM371B units.
- For Solution 2000 or 3000 panels the replacement unit is B444-G
To use the B444-G with an existing B450-M unit and Solution 2000 or 3000 panel will require an firmware upgrade for both the panel and the B450-M unit.
- Panel to firmware version V2.1.3
- B450-M to firmware version V3.13.208
Installers will also need to upgrade their Alinkplus software to V6.1.16 to see and create V2.1.3 panel profiles.
The above firmware's and Alinkplus upgrade are available to be provided to Installers only via Bosch Technical Support as required and will eventually be available to download from our Bosch website.
The firmware updates for the panel and B450-M are such that they can only be applied by an Installer.
