Bosch Technical Support have received numerous Installer queries regarding customer panels generating multiple reports to Chubb - SMC Base Station Receivers.
This has been occurring with previously installed and new system installations.
On investigation and testing by Installers and our Distributor Partners it appears that the panels are not hearing the DTMF Kiss-Off tone from the Chubb -SMC Base Station receiver.
It appears that something may have changed in the firmware /programmed timings in the receiver/s such that the receiver appears to be not responding with the “kiss-off” tone in the timeframe the panel is programmed to wait to hear it.
If you wished to test this, you would perform the following test at the customer premises by initiating Telephone Monitor Mode:
You should expect to see the panel generate all numbers in sequence [1] then [2] then [3] then [4] then [5] indicating the kiss-off was received from receiver.
When tested the panel was not seeing kiss-off and only reached [4] then started the process again.
On our Bosch Solution range of panels, the default Kiss-Off wait time is set to be 2.0 seconds
Our older and current Solution Panels were all set to this time.
For example:
- Solution 844/862/880
- ICP -CC488
- Solution 2000 / 3000 /4000 panel.
Bosch Technical Support would suggest extending the Kiss-Off time to a longer timeframe (longer than 2 secs) if reporting to any Chubb -SMC Monitoring Centre to overcome this issue as both new customer and already existing customer systems are being impacted by this.
These parameters have remained unchanged in our panels.
Extend the Kiss-Off Wait time:
- from the DEFAULT value of [3] = 2.0 secs
- to a value of [5] = 3.0 seconds
Installer testing has shown this resolved the reporting issues.
