Controlling a Solution 2000/3000/4000 using Google Home or Alexa

Modified on Tue, 8 Apr at 3:59 PM

A Solution Control panel is normally armed and disarmed using the codepad and a known valid code or by using the RSC+ User App.

A Solution Control panel may also be controlled by utilising a Home Automation system to also turn on and off the system and to control other system operations.

Here are 2 scenarios of how to achieve this:

  • Home Assistant

With Home Assistant you can integrate Google Home devices as well as other manufacturers products.

There are many devices that can integrate with the Home Assistant platform

Note: Home Assistant is not a Bosch product.

  • Using a 3rd Party Smart Switch to trigger a Keyswitch zone on the panel.

Here is a potential device to use to control the panel which would then operate as stand alone.

Have a look here:

Newgoal 2-Channel WiFi Smart Switch Relay Module, TUYA/Smart Life App for Smart Home Remote Control, Momentary Time Adjustable, Compatible with Alexa/Google Assistant : Amazon.com.au: Automotive

Note: Bosch do not make this Smart switch nor vouch for the veracity of the product.

You could look for a similar TUYA smart device.

This is basically a device with 2 controllable relays.

To utilise this device an Installer would need to need to wire from one of the onboard relay outputs to a zone on the alarm that is programmed to operate as a Keyswitch.

Once correctly connected and configured this “Smart Switch” would need be programmed / associated to your Google device to then cause it to operate on command.
