Help: The alarm is going off , what can I do !!
An active Security alarm will have codes set in it by an Installer to allow it to be armed (turned on) and disarmed (turned off)
The only person who would know these would be the Installer or the Home owner who had the system installed.
Bosch will have no records of your system or its codes or who installed it.
Sometimes if you are renting through an Agent they may have a record.
An alarm system may sit in a disarmed state for many years , but if the power was turned off and on it may ARM itself. This was a default setting to stop someone doing so to try and trick the system to disarming.
Shut down process:
If you do not have a code for your system and you need to disable it all together you can do the following:
Find a Phillips (cross head) screwdriver to open the box.
- Look and find the Control Panel Metal box. (it may be in a cupboard / wardrobe/ Garage)
It will look similar to this
- Nearby will be a transformer that powers the system plugged into a power-point.
It will look similar to this
- Switch off the power-point (you can leave it plugged in)
- Take your screwdriver and remove the 2 screws that hold on the lid of the metal box ( they are very long this is to slow down a burglar)
- Remove the lid and you will see a backup battery with a red and black lead
You need to disconnect just one of these leads: gently pull on either lead to disconnect it from the battery.
- The panel is now powered down
- Tuck this wire in and then replace panel cover and screws.
You can now contact an Installer at your leisure
Bosch Manufacture and Wholesale our Security Products through our Distributor Partners who then sell only to Licenced Security Alarm Installation companies and their Installers.
We do not sell to the general public, nor do we have our own Installation staff.
Bosch will have no records of your system components or its codes or other settings.
We do however recommend the companies and Installers who deal with our Distributor Partners to provide onsite service or installation.
We would always recommend you initially contact your original Installer as they will know all about your current Alarm Panel setup and codes etc.
If you do not know your Installer you can go to:
