HCR-15 Faulty EEPROMS Receivers losing keyfobs

Modified on Tue, 8 Oct, 2019 at 10:57 AM

An issue has been identified that certain HCR-15 receivers could lose the fobs programmed in.

CLE have resolved this issue with the HCR-15AF receiver kit.

They have found that they had received a batch of faulty EEPROMs.

During production they have had 2x different EEPROM chips.

Should you feel that you have this problem the cause can be easily identified by looking at the EEPROM ( 8 pin IC in receiver ) on the receiver.

The FAULTY EEPROM  is marked as "EXEL  XL24C16P "

The OK part is 24LC16B I/P and is  "Microchip”branded the same as the 18 pin microprocessor  in the receiver.

CLE will be happy to replace any receivers found with this part.

Unfortunately, they cannot narrow them down to a particular period as the faulty part has been used at various times during the last 12 months along with the OK part.
