The distance between Radion Repeater (RFRP) and Radion Receiver (B810, RFRC-STR2)

Modified on Tue, 9 Feb, 2021 at 11:41 AM

Some installers want to know what is the appropriate distance between Radion Repeater and Radion Receiver.

Range experienced by installers is affected by many different things that it would be impossible to set an appropriate expectation. It is not just building construction, but also objects in the building that affect RF transmissions. Including objects that move (like people).

We generally say that 100 meters, open air, line of sight is typical. Some installers have experienced more. But some other installers have also experienced less inside some buildings. Some transmitters (key fobs) are shorter. The installers will do best to put in the receiver, and test various locations for the repeater to find the optimal location.
